KA resumed its educational activities from Tuesday, 15^th September, 2020 for the classes IX to XII under a strict adherence with zero tolerance by staff, faculty and students of the school to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) promulgated by the Federal & Provincial Education Ministries for the prevention & control of Covid-19 pandemic.

Korangi Academy (KA) has been conducting online live classes for the students from Grade 6 till Grade 12 since 24th March, 2020 using a cloud-based video conferencing platform called “Zoom Meeting” to engage students in continuous learning process who were staying at their homes due to Covid-19 pandemic. Since the mid of July, 2020 the online live classes for the students of Grades 4 & 5 have also been started.

At present daily three online sessions are being conducted under the strict SOPs of Covid-19 by our qualified & IT trained team of teachers of the Middle, Senior & College sections.

ICT Team of KA led by Mr. Atif Kamal Khan assisted by Mr. Sharique Maqsood and Mr. Lalzaib Badshah conducted a Digital Education Workshop on Thursday, 19th March, 2020, at INFAQ House participated by the teachers of Senior and College Sections of Korangi Academy.

The Head and IT In-charge of IETC also attended the workshop besides the Principal, KA and Section Heads of Senior and College Sections of KA.

The Zoom Meeting, a cloud-based video conferencing service (Zoom Cloud Meeting app in case of smartphones) can be used for holding classes by the teachers while sitting at their homes. The software/app can be downloaded free of cost for the Zoom’s website. However the free version allows maximum 40 minutes on-line video conferencing session at a time with maximum of 100 participants to attend the session remotely via internet using their own desktop, laptop or smartphones.

Mr. Lal Zaib was asked to logged in as a Host (in s classroom environment as a Teacher) on to the Zoom’s video conferencing website while the present teachers joined in the Zoom session using their laptops or smartphones as participants (in a classroom environment as Students). Recording of the training session was also made & shown to the audience at the end of the workshop.

Mr. Nazim F. Haji, , Chairman MC, Vice President, GB, CDSS, Rear Admiral (R) Syed A. Baqar, HI (M), Member MC & GB, Chief Executive (CE), CDSS and Mr. Sohail Ayub, Program Manager Education, INFAQ Foundation also attended the session. Mr. Nazim F. Haji emphasized to use the on-line technologies during this calamity as an opportunity to learn more ways to ensure continuity of disrupted education and engagement of our students in studies at their homes.

The CE appreciated the interest shown and efforts during the Digital Education Workshop by the teachers are appreciated. He reiterated to continue the efforts to adopt digital education in KA and in normal times too this technology will be of great help to enable teachers to cover syllabi during holidays or take in weak students pre-examination. Its common use will also make the students use to digital education and comprehend teachings easily. The CE decided to make this program for the next session to have regular workshops for the teachers of Middle and Junior Sections.

Laiba Kareem student of class VIII-A competed in the 4^th National Youth and Junior Athletic Championship in Lahore held on 25^th-26^th November, 2020. She ranked 3^rd in Pakistan.

The Science Exhibition held in BVS Parsi School on 14^th November, 2020. Students of Korangi Academy presented their models on Agriculture & Food Security, Energy Resources and Conservation & Solution to Environmental issues and concerns.

A shield & medal was awarded to Warisha Khan student of Class VIII-A by Mrs. Asma Nasir, Principal, KA for obtaining the 2nd position in the Digital Technology Grade Scope Competition held on 13th September, 2019.

The students of KA from class VI to VIII participated in the Inter School Athletic Championship organized by Karachi American School, Amir Khusro Road, Scheme # 1 on 5^th& 6^th April, 2019 and won the Runner’s Up Trophy.
